Introduction

Hello, all!

My name is Emmaleigh. I've been editing things since I could understand the mechanisms of the English language. I love to read, and I'm a self-proclaimed perfectionist when it comes to grammar.

A little about me:

I love to write, read, play piano, sing, dance, babysit, and be carefree with friends. I'm a Christian who believes firmly in working with the poor, loving them, because too often the poor and mentally disabled are tossed away like yesterday's trash. They have so much to offer and so much to teach us that we simply cannot ignore them.

I'm a dog person. I have a sweet five-year-old mutt, Domino, a three-year-old rescue Great Pyrenees, Reba, and a three-month-old rescue Pyrenees/Lab/Golden Retriever puppy, Max. I'm dating one of the greatest guys on the planet.

I'm a college student, going for a Bachelor's and possibly Master's in Early Childhood Education. I firmly believe children are the future, and should have the best education and reading resources possible. Did you know the United States is one of the lowest-ranked countries in primary/secondary education, though we're one of the highest in athletics?

This is where part of my mission for this blog comes into play. Too often, independent authors self-publish through Createspace and/or Amazon without any editing whatsoever, jeopardizing their books' chances of doing well in the rankings and potentially their credibility as authors. Proper editing seems to have become a thing of the past as text messaging, news snippets online, and other quick-read media sources are promoting short attention spans and poor grammar. I do believe that books must escape the fate of the short attention span. Books must be kept grammatically correct, well-written. I feel obligated, as someone who loves to edit, to be a beacon for such things.

So, in short, this is an editing business. If you're about to publish an eBook via Createspace or Amazon or any other program, without having used any spell-checker or grammar-editing software, I would be positively thrilled to check it over for you, for a small fee.

Here it is, folks:

Books under 200 pages in Microsoft Word or Apple Pages: $100

An additional $50 will be charged for every 100 pages after the 200-page limit.

I also ask that my name/blog be added to the acknowledgements in every eBook I edit.

So there it is, friends! If you're interested, contact me at emmaleigh.echo.editing@gmail.com. I will continue to blog as time goes on, and I look forward to getting to know the next up-and-coming authors through my work!

Blessings,

Emmaleigh
